Could you tell us a bit about yourself?

My name is Tijn Rosman, I’m 28 and together with my girlfriend Emma and our cat I live in Maarssen. We moved there in March 2025, after traveling around in our self-built campervan for 6 months. I grew up on an old farm in Langerak, a small town next to the river Lek. Growing up there I really enjoyed having all the space you could imagine to play around and spend time at the river.

What drew you to IG&H?

During lunch with a former colleague (who had joined IG&H), we discussed how things were going for me. Long story short, I was open to a new challenge. After being introduced to several people and getting a good understanding of the role, I joined in January 2025. What drew me most was how open and welcoming everyone was. I think this still is one of our greatest strengths.

What is your role & what does it involve?

I work in the Process Excellence branch of IG&H as a process consultant. In this role, I help organizations understand and improve their business processes. For example, I worked with a large retail company that was introducing a new ERP system. We mapped out how employees worked today and how their work would change in the future. This helped people understand the impact of the new system and provided the basis for training materials to support the transition.

I also worked with a healthcare organization to help them better understand how work flows through the organization. By focusing on end-to-end processes instead of individual departments, we enabled them to identify opportunities to improve collaboration, measure performance more effectively and become less dependent on the organizational structure at any given moment.

Depending on the project, I facilitate workshops, map processes, and support large transformations and system implementations. I’m often in contact with different stakeholders and enjoy working together towards a common goal. I’m also involved in supporting and coaching colleagues who are new to the team. This ties in well with my ambition to continue taking on more leadership responsibilities in the future.

What does a typical day at IG&H look like?

A typical day starts with a project team meeting, where I align with the project lead, process owners, and other team members on priorities and progress. Later, I might facilitate a workshop with client stakeholders to design a future process, discussing how people will work in the future and what requirements are important for supporting systems and processes.

The rest of the day is usually spent analyzing findings and translating them into practical next steps, such as process designs, improvement opportunities or an implementation roadmap. In between, there’s always time to grab a coffee with colleagues to exchange ideas or simply catch up.

I usually commute to the office by bike, which takes me about half an hour from Maarssen. We have a gym at the office, so a couple of times a week I start my day with a run or a workout.

What do you enjoy most about working at IG&H?

One of the things I value most about IG&H is the people. In consulting, it can sometimes be challenging to stay connected with your team because everyone works on different projects and for different clients. Yet, somehow, we make that work really well. People are approachable, always willing to help, and there is a strong culture of sharing knowledge. This creates a great environment to learn, grow, and continuously challenge yourself.

Working on complex projects with colleagues from different teams has not only broadened my perspective but also led to lasting friendships. Beyond work, I enjoy the many social and sports events we take part in together. Last year, for example, we joined the Singelloop Utrecht. This year, more than 40 colleagues are participating in a HYROX event in December. We are supporting global health, raising donations for charities that improve health outcomes and prevent deaths in the parts of the world that need the most help.

What has been your proudest moment at IG&H?

After being with IG&H for only a couple of months, I received a special shout-out during a project meeting. This really boosted my confidence and reinforced that I was making a meaningful contribution. Since then, I’ve been trusted with increasing responsibility, something I’m very grateful for. I’m a pragmatic person, so seeing clients actually benefit from the insights we create together is one of the most rewarding parts of the job.

While many of my projects focus on improving processes, the impact I enjoy most is seeing people grow. Whether it's helping employees prepare for a new way of working during a transformation or coaching junior colleagues within IG&H, I find it rewarding to see someone gain confidence and succeed in something that initially felt unfamiliar to them. Knowing that my work helps people navigate change and develop themselves is often more meaningful to me than any process improvement metric.

What do you like most about your role?

What I like most is the combination of variety and people. Some aspects of the work are familiar from one project to the next, but applying them in a new context keeps things interesting. There’s always something new to learn. Often, the most valuable insights don’t come from just looking at data and process flows, but from talking to people and understanding their perspectives. To me, it’s satisfying to take something complex and make it understandable and actionable.
