Markel modernizes IT landscape with Novulo and IG&H

Utrecht, May 1, 2025 – Insurer Markel Insurance is modernizing its IT landscape by transitioning to Novulo’s insurance platform and Microsoft.
This integrated solution provides a solid foundation for the entire value chain — from customer interaction to policy and claims administration and portals. IG&H is managing the full implementation, supporting Markel both during and after the go-live. Thanks to this strategic partnership, Markel will soon have a future-proof platform that fits the needs of today’s organization and evolves alongside its ambitions for tomorrow.
IT that works the way Markel works
Markel is making this transition to maintain its leading position in the market and to find a solution that better aligns with its operations. The new setup combines Microsoft Dynamics CRM for the front and mid-office with Novulo’s insurance platform for the full back office — including policy administration, claims processing, financial management, and archiving. Both platforms are seamlessly integrated, ensuring a consistent user experience and efficient process handling throughout the value chain.

Fast implementation through flexible design
Two years ago, Markel launched an intensive benchmarking project to explore alternatives to its existing platform. After testing several solutions, they selected Novulo, thanks in part to a successful proof of concept and a clear business case. IG&H’s ability to offer complete support was also a decisive factor. The implementation project began in January 2025, with the go-live scheduled for summer 2025.
